IMS completes on-voyage installation of OceanSaver® ballast water treatment system

The installation on Hoegh Trove was carried out primarily while the vessel was at sea incurring no extra off-hire except time scheduled for dry-docking. IMS provided a team of three (3) certified ships fitters who carried out most of the installations at sea. The team joined the vessel as it arrived in dry-dock and followed with the vessel after departure of the docking. Upon completion, the vessel’s superintendent expressed their satisfaction with the result of the installation and the quality work performed by the IMS fitters.

With the deadline for all ships to have installed a ballast water treatment system by 2016, IMS is ready to assist Owners and Ship Managers world wide in their requirements for installation services. With a tough financial situation still existing in the maritime industry, the on-voyage installation option offer cost savings by minimizing off-hire of the vessel without compromising safety and quality.
